Straggler Starling

She is not the first, and she probably won’t be the last. She moved in yesterday without my permission when I was at my weekly luncheon. I came home and didn’t notice her for several hours because she had already moved in with Daisy.
Like I said, she’s not the first. On a regular basis, I will go out and when I come back several hours later, I witness a mock movie scene where the parents come home early to the remains of a party and a few drunken stragglers.
However, I don’t have any children, much less partying teenagers. I have twenty nine birds of various species. And a straggling starling, that doesn’t realize that I don’t want another dependent.
Today, she discovered an empty cage. No more living with Daisy, she has set up her own home complete with a perch.
Starlings are hard to keep as pets, but they don’t want to listen to reason. I can’t afford the expensive protein rich cat food they require. I don’t want to buy her grub worms or go outside and dig for them.
As soon as let her outside though, it won’t be but a week before she or another starling is ready to set up home. Food and water in a bowl beats having to fly over the county looking, I suppose.
